I took my family to North Dallas yesterday on the local rail system. We started out on the Trinity Railway Express and transfered to the northbound DART Red Line at Union Station. We got off the train at the Park Lane station and walked to North Park Mall (we could have taken a shuttle bus though). After a leisurely stroll through the mall, we stopped off at Souper! Salad! for lunch before boarding the southbound Red Line and starting our homeward journey.
My wife and kids loved the entire trip. I, however, saw it as a preclude to the day in, day out drudgery of mass transit.
